Course Information:

This 200-hour Department of Justice course presents the learner with the necessary training to become certified as a jail officer in the state of Wisconsin.

Our Next Offerings:

Full-Time: May 23-June 27, 2024
Final date to submit completed packet: April 26, 2024
This class will run Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. for 5 weeks

Full-Time: September 4-October 8, 2024
Final date to submit completed packet: August 9, 2024
This class will run Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. for 5 weeks

Full-Time: January 21-February 24, 2025
Final date to submit completed packet: December 13, 2024
This class will run Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. for 5 weeks

Are you a self-sponsored applicant?

What are the requirements to apply?

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Proof of United States Citizenship with original birth certificate or other document approved by the Department of Justice
  • 18 years of age

Self-sponsored applicants will receive the Jail Academy application packet upon request. Please return all application materials as indicated in the packet.
