top 5 job search tips from area employers
Each week we will feature the top 5 job search tips from area employers. This week, Belgioioso Cheese, Inc. offered their tips for a successful job search.
- Your cover letter and resume must show the employer that you meet the specific qualifications for the job
- Follow all the directions and answer all questions on an application (including being neat).
- Rather that saying "I'll do anything," specify what you are good at and what you are passionate about in terms of the job description
- Know your employers and the dates you were there. List them consistently (and correctly) on your resume and application.
- Stand out by doing active listening in the interview so you can show them you understand and can re-cap what they are looking for, or what they expressed in the interview. Be able to reflect back and explain how you meet their needs.
