How is tuition calculated for residents vs. non-residents?

Tuition is calculated differently for Wisconsin residents and non-residents. Tuition is set each spring by the Wisconsin Technical System Board, while fees for books and supplies vary by program.

Wisconsin Residents

Tuition and minimum fees: $163.30 per credit; books and other supplies not included.

  • Associate of Arts and Associate of Science transfer courses (course numbers that start with 20): $209.60 per credit; books and other supplies not included.
  • Minnesota residents enrolled full-time at NWTC are considered Wisconsin residents for tuition purposes.
  • Michigan residents of Bay de Noc and Gogebic Community College Districts and the counties of Gogebic, Iron, Dickinson, Menominee, and Delta will pay $5.00 extra per credit.

Nonresidents

Tuition and minimum fees: $236.40 per credit; books and other supplies not included.

  • Associate of Arts and Associate of Science transfer courses (course numbers that start with 20): $304.05 per credit; books and other supplies not included.
  • International students are considered non-residents for tuition purposes. Learn about paying for college in the U.S.
