More About the Energy Center
A shining example of sustainable building practices, the 30,000 square foot facility:
- Is net zero energy capable with the goal of offsetting the building's annual energy consumption with an annual renewable energy production that meets or exceeds what the center consumes.
- Includes conduit and circuits for adding solar and other renewable energy systems.
- Has a geothermal system, a method for moving heat to and from the earth, with 40 wells that are over 300 feet deep.
Power Fact: NWTC students are putting their learning to work right here in the Energy Center. Students verify the production of electricity through our solar systems and the consumption of energy through metering installed throughout this building.
