NWTC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, a regional institutional accreditor. HLC Institutional Accreditor Letter
The United States Department of Education recognizes Northeast Wisconsin Technical College as an institution of higher education.
The Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Board recognizes NWTC as a comprehensive technical college.
NWTC is approved by the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) to offer online and distance learning courses.

INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education, named NWTC a recipient of this award, recognizing the College's innovations in helping underrepresented students pursue STEM careers.
2021 Achieving the Dream Leah Meyer Austin Award
National prize is given annually to an ATD Network college that shows sustained, substantive improvement in student outcomes; narrowing and closing of equity gaps; and outstanding commitment to equity-centered cultural change.
2021 Bellwether Award Finalist
NWTC's transition from semesters to eight-week terms, “The 8-Week Advantage: Turning Change into Transformation,” was judged a Top 10 Bellwether Finalist in the category of Planning, Governance & Finance.
