Organizational Safety and Health - Certificate

The Supervisory Personal Skills course is designed to equip participants with essential skills required to manage change, handle stress, communicate assertively, and develop emotional intelligence in their role as supervisors. The course focuses on developing skills critical to personal leadership success and improving the overall performance of the organizations.

Introduces the student to the concepts involved in organizational wellness programs and the impact from a financial and human asset standpoint. Learners will research wellness programs, develop proposed systems for district-based organizations, and calculate projected cost savings from the implementation of these programs. Insurance principles will also be examined by the learner.

Safety awareness, federal/state/local compliance, inspections, risk analysis, workplace violence, substance abuse, health hazards, first aid, CPR, fire and electrical safety, and emergency preparedness.

This science of psychology course is a survey of multiple aspects of behavior and mental processes. It provides an overview of topics such as research methods, theoretical perspectives, learning, cognition, memory, motivation, emotions, personality, abnormal psychology, physiological factors, social influences, and development.. (Prerequisite: Cumulative GPA of 2.6 or greater OR satisfactory reading and writing assessment scores OR 10-831-107, College Reading and Writing 1 with "B" or better OR Corequisite: 10-831-102, English Comp Prep).
