Audio Recording - Certificate
The Audio Recording Certificate is designed for a person seeking skills in audio multitrack recording, mixing and mastering. Mic placement, gain staging, dynamic range control as well as audio effects are discussed. Students will record musicians of many musical styles in a 32 track digital studio. Students will also deliver final mixes to artists and learn about music distribution through downloads or streaming services. Credits from this certificate may be applied toward the Digital Media Technology Associate Degree.

Course Descriptions
Concept of analog to digital audio conversion; audio production with software including editing, processing, mixing and exporting. Creating radio imaging and advertising; producing various length content for distribution through multiple mediums.
Course Typically Offered: Fall SpringApply the basics of recording in a professional studio with state-of-the-art equipment to produce high quality audio for distribution. Learn about microphones and their placement; use various audio interfaces and mixers and distribute files to clients for streaming services. (Prerequisite: 10-206-100, Digital Audio)
Course Typically Offered: FallApply advanced recording techniques including drum mixing, headphone mixes, time based processing and CD as well as streaming distribution. (Prerequisite: 10-206-102, Audio Engineering 1)
