32-420-332 CNC FUNDAMENTALS 3 ...CNC production planning, advanced 2-D mill programming, 3-D surface programming for CNC milling, conversational and G-code programming for milling machines, and computer assisted CNC programming for milling operations. (Prerequisites: Accepted in the CNC or Machine Tool Technics program; 31-420-349, G-Code and CAM 2)

What will I learn?

  1. Produce a functional Computer Aided Machining CNC process plan.
  2. Generate 2-D geometry utilizing helix, spline, or profile options.
  3. Edit a CAM machine define file.
  4. Customize a CAM code generator file.
  5. Construct geometry for a 3-D wire frame model.
  6. Build 3-D mesh from a wire frame model.
  7. Build 3-D surfaces from a wire frame model.
  8. Edit 3-D mesh and surface geometry.
  9. Assign tool path to 3-D mesh and surface geometry.
  10. Generate G-codes for 3-D surface machining.
