10-504-906 CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION THEORY ...principles of criminal investigation; focus on techniques of an investigation from the preliminary investigation interview, evidence procedures, and specific crime investigation. (Corequisite: 10-504-900, Intro to Criminal Justice)

What will I learn?

  2. VI-B-2 Apply the steps for processing crime scenes.
  3. VI-B-3 Apply appropriate strategies to locate, handle, and package evidentiary items. ***

  5. VI-B-5 Recognize the unique investigative issues for crimes against life.
  6. VI-B-6 Apply appropriate strategies to secure the scene, collect and preserve evidence, and investigate a death.
  7. VI-C-1 Assist a crime victim.
  8. VI-C-2 Incorporate victim assistance principles, statutes, and policy into conducting and assisting victims and witnesses of crime.***
  9. VI-D-1 Analyze the role of law enforcement in responding to domestic abuse.
