What will I learn?

  1. Describe the operation of an electric motor starter.
  2. Differentiate between several types of overload relays.
  3. Design circuits that will reverse the direction of rotation of various kinds of motors.
  4. Examine the various methods used to start electric motors.
  5. Incorporate several kinds of load devices into motor control design.
  6. Troubleshoot motor control circuits.
  7. Identify the major components used in a programmable logic control system.
  8. Program basic control circuits into a programmable logic controller.
