Course Description
10-410-120 ENERGY SAVING BUILDING SCIENCE ...This course provides an overview of building construction techniques used to reduce energy consumption and operating costs, as well as how saving energy can reduce a building’s environmental impact. Topics include LEED, Energy Star, Net Zero Energy, and Passive House building standards, as well as the HERS rating index. Emphasis is placed on understanding energy bills, heat transfer through a building envelope, heating and cooling efficiency, as well as solar and energy storage technologies.
