10-614-237 ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING PROCESSES ...an introduction into the manufacturing & production environment, illustrating the basic concepts of machine setup and fixture design, pattern making, material selection, thermoforming, die making, short run production molds. (Prerequisite: 10-614-156, Intro to Molding Processes & Techniques; 10-614-138, CNC Machining-Advanced)

  2. Evaluate the various plastic processing methods.
  3. Analyze the historical and current state of plastics.
  4. Examine the most common plastics used in the manufacturing industry.
  5. Examine the various metal finishes processes used in manufacturing.
  6. Analyze the various fixturing options used in manufacturing.
  7. Examine simple electrical circuits and components and their function.
  8. Examine simple movable mechanisms, gears, and cams and their function.
  9. Differentiate the various fasteners used in the industry.
  10. Evaluate the fundamentals of the sand casting process.
  11. Examine the various types of adhesives and glues used industry.
  12. Summarize the various health and safety measures used in the industry.
  13. Evaluate new industry processes and trends.
