76-890-756 GED PREP 1 ...this course is designed for students with a TABE Reading score up to a 5.0 and will develop and strengthen pre-GED skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic, improve basic computer skills, and orient students to the GED testing process and options for future transition to college.

What will I learn?

  1. Participate in orientation to learning in a direct instruction classroom.
  2. Assess current reading, language/writing, and arithmetic skills to establish a baseline for each.
  3. Develop a plan for improving reading skills in preparation for advancement to GED Prep 2.
  4. Develop a plan for improving language/writing skills in preparation for advancement to GED Prep 2.
  5. Develop a plan for improving arithmetic skills in preparation for advancement to GED Prep 2.
  6. Develop or enhance computer skills required by the GED 2014 computer-based testing.
