  2. Examine the factors that affect the power transmitted by a belt drive
  3. Examine different types of  chain drives and their related components
  4. Describe the operation and characteristics of gears
  5. Describe the operation of open and closed gear drives.
  6. Inspect transmissions and components
  7. Examine the factors that affect the power transmitted by clutches and brakes
  8. Examine the operating principles of adjustable-speed drives
