Class Notes
The DOT requires all students to review the Motorcycle Safety Course Waiver & Indemnification form prior to the first day of class. The form can be found at www.nwtc.edu/motorcycle. All students will sign the form in class with their instructor. Students under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the form prior to attending class. Forms are available in the Public Safety office, room CC102 and must be signed in the presence of a Public Safety staff member or notary.
The Motorcycle Safety Foundation's eCourse is now required to be completed fewer than 30 days prior to the class start date. Your class includes a link that allows you to register for the eCourse for FREE. In order to receive this discount, the link must be used when you create your MSF account. After signing up for the class, NWTC will email you a unique eCourse link within approximately 30 days of the class start date OR less depending on when you register and the class begins. To learn more about the MSF eCourse go to: elearning.msf-usa.org.
Full attendance is mandatory, which is an NWTC, State of Wisconsin and National Motorcycle Safety Foundation requirement. To drop this class please contact Enrollment Services at 920-498-5444. If you do not drop before the start date of class, you will be responsible for full payment of the class fees.
A motorcycle temporary permit from the Department of Transportation is NOT required to enroll in or attend the Motorcycle Rider Course. Individuals under 18 years of age who want a temporary permit or individuals attempting to renew their temporary permit for the third time will need verification of enrollment to present to the Department of Transportation in order to obtain their temporary permit. Proof of enrollment on NWTC letterhead is the required document and is available, after enrollment and payment is made, by calling the NWTC Traffic Safety Office at 920-498-5526 or 1-800-422-6982, ext. 5526.
Class meets: Sat & Sun, 8:00am - 2:00pm at the Universal Driving Facility (UDF) 4975 Glendale Ave, Howard WI, 54313
The learner is required to wear the appropriate riding gear for riding sessions, including long non-flare pants, long sleeve shirt or jacket, sturdy shoes that cover ankles or low-heeled boots, full-fingered gloves, eye protection and DOT-approved helmet.
