Course Description

10-526-212 OB/GYN SONOGRAPHY 2 ...prepares learners to perform ultrasounds of the second and third-trimester pregnancy. Explores the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the female pelvis and the developing fetus. (Prerequisite: Accepted into the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program; 10-526-208, OB/GYN Sonography 1)

What will I learn?

  1. Obtain measurements for second/third obstetrical exam
  2. Identify the normal sonographic appearances of the second-third trimester pregnancy
  3. Identify the abnormal sonographic appearances of the second-third trimester pregnancy
  4. Perform a endovaginal ultrasound of the second/third trimester gravid female pelvis
  5. Outline the translabial ultrasound of the female reproductive system
  6. Perform second/third trimester obstetrical ultrasound
  7. Explore the post-partum ultrasound of the female pelvis
  8. Assess interventional techniques used in OB/GYN
  9. Assess a high-risk pregnancy
  10. Outline a fetal well-being assessment
  11. Perform a second-third trimester fetal heart evaluation
