10-550-174 OVERVIEW OF MENTAL DISORDERS ... Examine signs and symptoms specific to mental health diagnosis across the lifespan as defined in the Diagnostic and statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM.) Explore and differentiate diagnostic techniques and behavioral experimentation instruments. Assess boundaries and ethical issues commonly found in behavior assessment. Apply reflective practitioner techniques.

  7. Summarize the charecteristics of substance abuse disorders
  8. Apply a biological, psychological and social framework to the etiology of a specific substance abuse disorder
  9. Investigate the relationship of assessment and diagnosis to the treatment of substance abuse disorders
  10. Identify potential moral, ethical and legal consideration in the substance abuse profession
  11. Explore future directions in the theory and practice of substance abuse
