47-504-613 EMPOWERED WOMEN'S SELF DEFENSE ...This course is to develop and enhance the options of self defense for women. This course will give students the opportunity to defend themselves from a potential attack through awareness, education, and self-realization of power.
EMS Fundamentals
10-531-911 EMS FUNDAMENTALS ...this course provides the paramedic student with comprehensive knowledge of EMS systems, safety, well-being, legal issues, and ethical issues, with the intended outcome of improving the health of EMS personnel, patients, and the community. The students will obtain fundamental knowledge of public health principles and epidemiology as related to public health emergencies, health promotion, and illness/injury prevention. Introducing students to comprehensive anatomical and medical terminology and abbreviations will foster the development of effective written and oral communications with colleagues and other health care professionals. (Prerequisites: Acceptance in the Paramedic or Fire Medic program; completion of Health Assessment; Corequisites: all 10-531-XXX courses in the current semester)
Energy Saving Building Science
10-410-120 ENERGY SAVING BUILDING SCIENCE ...This course provides an overview of building construction techniques used to reduce energy consumption and operating costs, as well as how saving energy can reduce a buildingÆs environmental impact. Topics include LEED, Energy Star, Net Zero Energy, and Passive House building standards, as well as the HERS rating index. Emphasis is placed on understanding energy bills, heat transfer through a building envelope, heating and cooling efficiency, as well as solar and energy storage technologies.
Engine Performance
10-412-162 ENGINE PERFORMANCE ...focuses on key performance and troubleshooting skills and methodology. Student will be using OEM testing and troubleshooting process to ensure the engine functioning to OEM specs. Computer based diagnostic tools will be uses on trucks during road test situations.

Emphasis on diagnostic procedures and the problem-solving techniques associated with automotive engine performance and drivability. Engine Tune-Up
10-412-161 ENGINE TUNE-UP ...focuses on engine tune up to optimize fuel mileage and performance of the engine. Students will perform an engine tune up on various engines following the OEM procedures utilizing specialty tools and equipment.

10-614-237 ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING PROCESSES ...an introduction into the manufacturing & production environment, illustrating the basic concepts of machine setup and fixture design, pattern making, material selection, thermoforming, die making, short run production molds. English Composition 1
10-801-136 ENGLISH COMPOSITION 1 ...learners develop knowledge/skills in planning, organizing, writing, editing. Students will also analyze audience/purpose, use elements of research, format documents using standard guidelines, and develop critical reading skills.
