On Tuesday, October 8, NWTC alum Alonso Romo introduced President Joe Biden before his speech in Milwaukee.
Romo, who grew up in Oconto Falls, is a 2023 graduate of NWTC’s Gas Utility Construction and Service program. He currently works as a skilled laborer at NPL Construction in Milwaukee replacing lead water pipes.
In his introduction speech, Romo shared that while his wages are fantastic and he receives great benefits, the biggest reward of his job is giving families clean drinking water with every lead pipe he replaces.

Graduates of NWTC’s Gas Utility Construction and Service program earn one of the highest salaries among all NWTC programs. In fact, the 2022-2023 graduates of the program earned an average salary of $72,000 within the first six months of graduating.
