Why did you choose nursing?
My mother-in-law and stepmom both completed nursing school while raising young children, and they’ve been such an inspiration to me. I’ve also had a few amazing nurses while delivering my children – they made me want to help others feel as cared for as I did. Nursing is such an admirable career, and I’ve always felt called to it.
What was your experience like at NWTC?
I cannot recommend the program enough! The teachers at the Marinette campus are amazingly kind, understanding, excellent educators, and incredible role models. I’ve learned so much in just one year! A degree in nursing is such a smart choice because it opens up so many job opportunities. You will never regret investing in yourself through education!
What are your plans after graduation?
I’ve accepted a position at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay on the observation floor! I’m excited to gain a lot of experience and work with all types of patients. My long-term goal is to bridge to my RN in the next few years, but this job will help me build confidence and overcome that ‘new nurse nervousness'.
What's your favorite inspirational quote?
"This too shall pass." My mom always said this quote growing up. It’s simple but true – the hard times will pass!
