FEATURING: Adem Tesfaye
Adem Tesfaye is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer whose original solo music is soulful, bluesy, introspective and life affirming. He communicates personal and uplifting experiences through his rich baritone vocals and melodic guitar. Adem’s original songs are inspired by LL Cool J, Bob Marley, Prince, and Lenny Kravitz. Adem has opened for and shared the stage with many acts including Red Man, De la Soul, Evan Christian, and Ben Harper.
As a young musician in Madison, Wisconsin, he co-founded a rap/spoken word collective called “The Black Poet’s Society” and recorded and produced two albums with the collective. After moving to Seattle where he taught himself to play guitar, Adem returned to the Midwest to record again and then ventured to the Big Apple in 2006. During his time in NYC, he played at many venues as a soloist and with various bands and recorded his fourth album.
Covid interrupted a tour of the Midwest, and since, he has played throughout Southern Wisconsin, Chicago, and toured in Paris, France. In fall of 2024, the 365 Leadership Community Choice Awards nominated and selected Adam as their “Musical Artist of the Year.” He is currently a nominee for the 2025 WAMI awards and is working on new releases for his solo and band.
