Civil Engineering Technology students at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College won first place at a national competition for the second time in three years.
Teams from around 20 Colleges and Universities across the country took part in the National Society of Professional Surveyors Student Competition. This year, each team had to explain and present how changes in surveying practices would impact individual states.
On a national level, surveyors are moving to the metric system for measurement and topography is transitioning from mathematic surface to gravity.
The five person team from NWTC, explained through a paper, virtual presentation and supporting materials how changes in surveying on a national level would impact Wisconsin.
The event was held virtually this year due to COVID-19.
A team from NWTC has taken part in the National Society of Professional Surveyors Student Competition for the last three years, placing every year; first place (2018), third place (2019) and first place (2020). Congratulations everyone!
