Carla Hedtke, former chair of NWTC’s Board of Trustees, received the 2020 Central Region Trustee Leadership Award from the Association of Community College Trustees.
During Hedtke’s 25 years on NWTC’s board, she has served on the WTCS District Boards Association, represented the board in national higher education conferences, and provided a voice for two-year college students in state and national legislatures. She was named the 2020 Trustee of the Year by the Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association.
NWTC Board Vice-Chairman David Mayer said when nominating her for the award that Hedke’s enthusiasm for lifelong learning and education access “has altered the course of countless lives and made Ms. Hedtke an important voice for rural and urban residents of all ages.”
Hedtke, who owns NEW Rehabilitation Services/Trigger Point Myotherapy, is active in the Oconto Falls Chamber of Commerce and Oconto County Economic Development Corporation. She is a civic leader and frequent volunteer, honored by the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society and March of Dimes.
