Employees of JBS Green Bay – one of the area’s largest private employers – have the opportunity to pursue their college dreams tuition free. Through a new partnership with NWTC, JBS will pay the college tuition of qualifying team members and their dependents.
“We congratulate JBS for investing in the families of their employees and recognizing the importance of post-secondary education for career success,” said Dr. Jeff Rafn, NWTC president. “NWTC is thrilled to have the opportunity to provide JBS member families our nationally-recognized student success strategies as we prepare the next generation of highly-skilled workers that will drive the economic vitality of our communities.”
In addition to removing financial barriers, the partnership aims to increase college accessibility in another way. JBS team members, many from first-generation American families, will get help navigating the application process.
The new partnership is part of the national program, JBS USA Better Futures. JBS USA believes providing free access to community college and technical training programs can help play a role in building sustainable rural economies and making a lasting and meaningful difference in people’s lives.
