During a seven-week, hands-on seminar at NWTC Green Bay over the winter, 11 area high school students got a great feel for one of the College’s most unique programs – the Prototype and Design associate degree. Students enjoyed learning through planning and executing several projects including fabricating a cribbage board using a CNC machine and shop tools, laser engraving an aluminum water bottle, and 3-D printing a set of chess pieces, a custom backpack tag, and a lizard.
Several of the high school students are now considering a future in prototype and design. “This seminar opened my eyes to the nuances of prototype and design,” said one. “Not just the hard work, but all the enjoyable and fun lessons, activities, and application.”
