Last December, Bay Port senior Alexis Dietrich became the first high school student to complete NWTC’s Baking and Pastry Certificate. Taking dual credit classes allowed Dietrich to explore her culinary dreams at the same time as her secondary education.
“The experience was wonderful,” said Dietrich. “I’m looking forward to getting my degree and opening my own bakery or restaurant in the future.”
The Baking and Pastry Certificate gives students all the practical training and experience they need to be successful working with dough, pastries, custard, dessert sauces, and chocolate.
