The Trades and Engineering atrium, located in the Engineering Technology Center on the Green Bay campus, is about to get a major facelift. As part of the College’s commitment to innovation and education, the atrium will undergo a drastic transformation this summer, including organic graphics, interactive displays, and Industry 4.0 technologies. In addition to the atrium, the College of Business’s main entrance will also be seeing an overhaul, focusing on data analytics and data visualization in supply chain and operations.
“The goal of these projects is to create an immersive and interactive innovation experience for our students,” said Sue Zittlow, associate dean of the College of Business.
As technology advances in all industry sectors, NWTC is committed to staying on the cutting edge. Industry 4.0, the merging of smart digital technologies in production, manufacturing, and operation practices, has become increasingly important for regional businesses to stay competitive and meet industry demands. The evolution of advanced automation and a technology-centric workforce has continued to change the way NWTC teaches.
“We are positioning graduates to become innovation leaders in Northeast Wisconsin,” said Jill Thiede, associate dean of Trades and Engineering Technologies. “These technologies have become increasingly important for regional businesses, and we want to role model the technologies and skills that will advance our region’s workforce.”
The reimagined spaces will highlight NWTC’s continued commitment to advancing Northeast Wisconsin and its dedication to ensuring a highly skilled and qualified workforce. The immersive experiences will be revealed this fall, in a grand reopening of the Trades and Engineering atrium and College of Business main entrance.
