Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is now accepting applications for four positions on the NWTC District Board of Trustees. Board members play a key role in helping to shape higher education and grow the economic vitality of the region.
“For more than a century, NWTC has been the area’s resource for affordable excellence and a pioneer of academic programming and workforce training,” said Dr. H. Jeffrey Rafn, NWTC president. “Our District Board members are instrumental in ensuring we meet the ever-changing needs of our students and communities.”
Applications for the following three Board positions are now being accepted for a three-year term: one elected official and two additional representatives.
In addition, applications for the following Board position are now being accepted to fill a vacancy on the Board for one year that begins July 1, 2023: school district administrator.
The counties currently represented by these appointments are Shawano, Florence, Brown/Outagamie, and Marinette.
NWTC will fill these terms with candidates residing within the NWTC district.
In the appointment process, equal consideration is given to the general population distribution within the District and to the distribution of women and diverse populations on the Board in accordance with the Plan of Representation.
About the Positions:
Additional representative: All residents of a technical college district are eligible to serve as an additional member for the college.
Elected official: You are considered an applicant in the elected official category if, as defined in s. 5.02, Wis. Stats., you are a state or local elected official.
School district administrator: You are considered an applicant in the school district administrator category if, as defined in s. 115.001(8), Wis. Stats., you are a school district superintendent, supervising principal, or other person who acts as the administrative head of a school district.

Applications will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023.
Candidates must submit at least two letters of reference supporting their nomination. Letters of reference are due by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
All candidates MUST attend a public hearing of the District Board Appointment Committee at which their appointments to the District Board are discussed. The public hearing and Appointment Committee meeting are scheduled for 3 p.m., Monday, March 20, 2023, in the NWTC District Office Boardroom on the NWTC Green Bay campus, 2740 West Mason Street, Green Bay, Wisconsin.
