Course Description

10-662-106 ADVANCED ELECTRONICS ...analyze and utilize mathematical modeling for applications of solid-state devices, including Op-amps, diode circuits, BJT transistors, MOSFET transistors, switching circuits, and linear power supplies. Design basic BJT and MOSFET amplifier circuits as well as laboratory, simulation, and documentation. (Prerequisites: 10-605-161, Linear Electronics 2: JFET Amp)

  1. Explain the operation of semiconductor devices
  2. Analyze basic diode circuits
  3. Perform DC analysis of BJTs and MOSFETs
  4. Analyze switching/logic circuit transient behavior of both BJTs and MOSFETs
  5. Analyze electric circuits with dependent sources
  6. Design single-stage amplifier circuits using MOSFETs
  7. Design ideal operational amplifier circuits with resistive feedback
  8. Perform circuit simulation of electronic circuits
  9. Demonstrate proper use of electronic instrumentation in the laboratory
