Course Description

10-405-146 COLLISION REPAIR WELDING 2 ...oxy acetylene and plasma arc cutting, GMAW (MIG) welding on structural grade automotive steels. Squeeze type resistance spot welding (STRSW), welding aluminum, and silicone bronze is also introduced to students in this course. (Prerequisite: 10-405-144 Collision Repair Welding 1 OR 10-412-170 Intro to Transportation Welding AND 10-412-171 Transportation Welding)

What will I learn?

  1. Perform oxy acetyline torch cutting, plasma cutting, and torch adjustment
  2. Produce gas metal arc welds in the flat position on structural grade automotive steel
  3. Produce gas metal arc welds in the vertical position on structural grade automotive steel
  4. Produce gas metal arc welds in the overhead position on structural grade automotive steel
  5. Produce welds on aluminum in a flat position
  6. Perform squeeze type resistance spot welding (STRSW),
  7. Produce welds on silicone bronze in a flat position
