Course Description

30-531-106 CRITICAL CARE TRANSPORT ... prepares Wisconsin paramedics to function as critical care transport team members for critically ill or injured patients requiring transport between facilities. Provides students with knowledge of special assessment techniques and needs of the critical care patient; the ability to operate and troubleshoot critical care transport equipment; and develop the skills necessary to maintain the stability of critical care patients during transport. Follows the Wisconsin curriculum for license endorsement as a Wisconsin Critical Care Transport Paramedic. (Prerequisites: 21 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, valid completion of healthcare provider CPR which includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation, AED, and obstructed airway procedures for all age groups, valid EMT-Paramedic license with a minimum of three years experience as a Paramedic, ACLS and PALS certification.)
