75-861-944 ELL COLLEGE AND CAREER SPEAKING/LISTENING LEVEL 1 …designed to build beginning oral skills for non-native speakers of English to prepare and transition to college/career readiness in English with an emphasis on academic language, language strategies, and critical thinking.

What will I learn?

  3. Repeat modeled speech clearly
  4. Use nonverbal communication
  5. Respond to imperatives
  6. Observe listening etiquette
  7. Generate sounds
  8. Discriminate numbers and numeric forms
  9. Use the alphabet
  10. Use simple present tense form of the verb "to be"
  11. Recognize standard U.S. social/cultural norms
