Course Description

47-531-429 EMS ADVANCED SKILLS...learning in specific EMS topic areas (airway management, medical/trauma emergencies, EMS operations) for the purpose of expanding the knowledge-base and competencies of Wisconsin-licensed EMS providers. The EMS Advanced Skills course will serve to expand the skill level of EMS providers in providing out-of-hospital patient care onboard fire-based, private or public/volunteer ambulance services. The EMS Advanced Skills course is a format for the delivery of EMS continuing education credits that supports EMS certification training for EMS licensure in the state of Wisconsin.

What will I learn?

  1. Develop psychomotor skills and pattern recognition based on EMS protocols
  2. Evaluated for their competency of skills in a specified EMS topic area
  3. Demonstrate the ability to comprehend, apply and evaluate the content of lecture and practical skills in their role as an EMS provider in the out-of-hospital patient care environment
  4. Establish personal behaviors and characteristics consistent with the codes of conduct and professional expectations necessary to continue to practice emergency medical care in the state of Wisconsin
