60-805-101 MUSIC & CULTURE..provides basic knowledge for those who are interested in utilizing music as a tool in different settings, while understanding/acknowledging the cultural origin. Students will learn about different genres of music, how to identify emotional connection to music, and how to compose a song.

What will I learn?

  1. Identify and discuss different genres/styles of music.
  2. Examine and discuss the cultural origin of specific genres.
  3. Examine and discuss careers and jobs involved with music.
  4. Recognize the benefit of using music in relation to emotions.
  5. Discuss proper ways to utilize musical instruments.
  6. Discuss and exhibit basic song composition and format.
