78-854-479 SAFETY IN NUMBERS ...this course will focus on the importance of applying math skills to medication administration, monitoring of patients' fluid status, and describing patients' conditions. Emphasis will be placed on why the nursing student must learn each concept while providing lifespan applications. (Prerequisite: Accepted in the Associate Degree Nursing program)

What will I learn?

  1. Apply systems of measurement accurately in a variety of nursing scenarios.
  2. Utilize decimals, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions in calculations and the overall care of patients.
  3. Calculate medication dosages using metric and household systems.
  4. Describe the importance of accurate measurement and calculation in maintaining patient safety and providing optimal care.
