10-526-257 SPECIAL PROCEDURES IN ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY... Introduces applications/limitations, technical procedures and fundamental role of cardiac sonographers in advanced echocardiography modalities. Lectures are correlated with scan lab demonstration. (Prerequisites: 10-526-252, Adult Echocardiography; Corequisites: 10-526-256, Advanced Cardiac Pathology & Case Review)

  1. Analyze the utility and performance of stress echocardiography.
  2. Perform stress echocardiography.
  3. Analyze utility and performance of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).
  4. Analyze utility of enhanced cardiac ultrasound.
  5. Perform IV peripheral access for intravenous administration.
  6. Analyze utility of three-dimensional echocardiography.
