November is National Scholarship Month and NWTC is celebrating the power of scholarships to transform lives. Scholarships open doors for students, providing financial support that helps them focus on their education and future career.
NWTC is proud to support students through scholarships made possible not only by generous community donors but also by the dedicated staff and faculty at the College.
About employee giving
The NWTC Foundation encourages all employees to consider giving a monetary gift towards scholarships or the Student Emergency Fund through the Foundation’s annual Employee Giving Campaign. Here’s how it works:
- Every dollar employees give goes directly to students for scholarships and emergency funding.
- Employees can give a one-time gift through cash, check, or credit card; or they can give a recurring gift through payroll deduction.
- Each employee chooses their desired amount to give and where they want their money to go – Student Emergency Fund, where it’s needed most, or a specific scholarship.
The impact of employee giving
On average, over the past 10-plus years, 85% of NWTC employees contributed to the Employee Giving Campaign. This year, employees gave a total of $100,000 toward scholarships and emergency funding.
Employees give to help make college possible for students. Scholarships and emergency funding impact many students like Colleen, a 2023 graduate of NWTC’s Practical Nursing program who is currently earning her associate degree in nursing at NWTC. She says, “Those people that believed in me, [and] that said ‘yes’ to those Foundation scholarships – their ‘yes’ really changed the course of my life.”
